Acupuncture

What is Acupuncture & how does it work?

Acupuncture activates feel good and healing mechanisms within your own body. It stimulates the release of natural pain-relieving and stress-reducing chemicals like endorphins and oxytocin. It Triggers the release of serotonin for a sense of well-being and melatonin to promote sleep.

It helps dampen pain signals / stimulus via nerve fibres, that interrupt or block pain signals before they reach the brain. It helps lower the sensitivity of tender, painful points in muscles and tissues. Its supports and works alongside other physiotherapy methods—such as exercise and manual therapy— to help return the body to a stable, healthy state – restoring overall wellbeing and balance.

If you aren’t sure what acupuncture entails or you're wondering if it's right for you please contact us today! We do get busy but please leave a message and we’ll get you booked in for a free chat with an experienced therapist often on the same day.
